Artifact 2

Artifact Title: Heart Play

PSOE Proficiency Addressed: 4.0 The canidate displays professional commitment to the teaching philosophy of differentiated instruction to support students' diverse learning needs to maximize learning.


Artifact Description: 

The "Heart Play" is a play that would describe the effects of healthy eating and horrible eating. It would start out as a person eating badly and showing the effects it has on the heart and the body. After the play shows what effects bad eating does then it will go into the part where exercise and healthy eating can do for your body.

This play would be better for upper elementary (3-5) to be able to grasp the full content. This play would use most of the students from those grades. It would be an event that students would invite the community to. It would show that they understand the health and fitness they need to be able to stay alive and thriving.


Artifact Link to PSOE Proficiency:

This artifact helps link me to the PSOE proficiency because it is a very diverse way of teaching students. This would get students to move, read, and speak. They are learning spatial, kinesthesis, linguistic, and intrapersonal areas of their learning. All of these tie into the 4.0 proficiency because students do learn in a variety of ways and I feel that a play would help them get their artistic side out.


Reflection:

I chose this artifact because I am very artistic, hands-on learner. I understand that students need to move and I feel that this artifact has helped me grow because I am accessing a side of me that students will hopefully compare themselves to. As I have explained above this particular assignment has many different learning styles that students have.
